FAQ

Where is your office located?

My office is in building 2008A of the Ranch at 120th Avenue and Tejon Street at the following address:

2008 W 120th Ave, Suite A3 Westminster, CO 80234

There’s plenty of parking located outside the building, so pick your favorite spot and come on in!

How long is a typical session?

I offer both 45- and 90-minute sessions.

Often, people start with 45 minutes and find they need more time, so they go with 90 minutes for follow-up sessions.

How do I get started?

Feel free to send in the contact form on the website, which comes directly to me, or you can call or text me at (970) 660-8013.

I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation during which I will answer questions you have, and we can determine whether we’re a good fit for one another.

Let’s find a time that works for you!

What is your fee?

A 45-minute session is $135.

A 90-minute session is $270.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance; however, I’m happy to offer you a superbill to send to your insurance company for reimbursement.

This process allows me more time to spend preparing for sessions with you instead of hanging on the phone with insurance companies.

*Please note that I cannot offer services or superbills to those under Medicaid insurance.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes, I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Since I have blocked out that spot for you, I ask that you give me the full 24-hours’ notice.

If you do not provide the full 24-hours’ notice, you will incur a charge for the full session fee.

What age range do you work with?

I’m a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and work with children 5 & up.

So basically, I work with all individuals over the age of 5!

How often will I need to come to therapy?

That’s totally up to you! At the beginning of therapy, we’ll be covering a lot of ground, and I recommend most people start by coming in weekly.

As therapy progresses, most people move to every other week. Let’s figure out together what works best for you!

Does anyone cry in front of you?

I see people experience a multitude of emotions, including crying.

Emotions are perfectly natural! They make us human, and I’m no exception to that rule!

No matter what emotion you experience in the room, I appreciate your vulnerability and willingness to explore.

Do you offer video or phone sessions?
Yes! I offer teletherapy via Zoom and phone sessions. These are great ways to stay connected during those unpredictable Colorado weather days!
Do I have to tell you everything?

Absolutely not!

As a matter of fact, I often tell people they are allowed to say, “No, I don’t want to go there today,” because sometimes we aren’t in a space to talk about it.

Those who open up more in therapy tend to have more success with the process; however, we can still get A LOT of work done even if I don’t know “everything.”

Are you licensed?

Yes, I’m a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado. I am also a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) through the Association for Play Therapy. Feel free to look around here for more information on Play Therapy.

Even though I’m an adult, can I play with the toys in your room?

I’m going to be offended if you don’t!!

Aren’t we all really just kids at heart? Find your favorite toy, and let’s play!

Do I have to lie on the couch?

Only if you want to!

Some people find my couch incredibly comfortable – so make yourself cozy, and let’s get to work!

We can do the work lying on the couch, lying on the floor (yep, I’ve done this before!), or sitting upright!

What’s your favorite emoji?

I use the SMH (shake my head) emoji A LOT – mostly because it helps exaggerate my confusion or frustration.

The eye roll emoji comes in at a close second… Wait! I’m sensing a theme here!
