Will I ever heal?
It isn’t fair. The world has taken so much from you, and now you are expected to “move on” from the trauma and grief.
People don’t understand how hard things have been for you. No amount of flowers, cards, kind words, or religion can make what you are experiencing go away.
In the aftermath of a car accident, an impossible childhood, or the sudden death of a loved one, many of us feel alone, unheard, invisible, and broken.
The grief is too much to bear.
The fear of everyday life takes away your ability to move forward.
The hole inside you feels as though it can never be filled.
Each breath feels like a 100-pound weight.
How do I help my child?
Parenting is the most demanding job ever.
It can leave us feeling lost, confused, and helpless.
The tantrums are ridiculous when screen time is up.
The school is calling because of behavioral issues, and they just aren’t getting their work done.
Maybe you’re on the other side where they are doing so well in school, and then they come home and unleash everything on you.
The house no longer feels like it’s in your control. You feel like you have tried everything, and nothing is working!
Why is being a teenager so hard?
More independence, that’s what you wanted. But it brought on more than you can handle.
The stress of school has caused fears of living up to the high expectations you set for yourself – not to mention the expectations of teachers, parents, and peers.
It’s hard to go out and feel “normal” because you have the anxiety that you are “not good enough” and the world is not safe.
Social media makes you feel you miss the mark of “perfection.”
It feels like no one can truly understand what you are going through.
So this is how burnout feels.
You thought being in the medical field would be rewarding. Occasionally, it is. Some days, you save a life or make a referral that makes everything better.
But all the other days, the days when you don’t get there in time, or you’ve tried everything – and nothing is going to change the outcome.
The days where the burden of life, death, and illness are just too much to handle – these are the days that make you want to shut out the world and drown out the bad.
Going to work can be a struggle. “What am I going to see today? Can my brain handle ANOTHER traumatic incident?”
Feeling “on edge” throughout the day is exhausting, which is where counseling can provide insight, guidance, and support to navigate the unknown.

Hello, I’m Tiffani Nowak!
Going to counseling doesn’t mean there is something “wrong with you” or you are “broken.” It means you have opened yourself to receive support during your time of need.
Counseling is a journey, not a quick weekend trip!
Humans have a unique ability to heal and grow no matter what stage of life. We aren’t meant to live this life alone, so why go through the struggle alone?
As a former Emergency Medical Technician, I understand the struggle to reach out for help. The stigma is alive, and the fear is intense. It’s okay to question whether counseling is right for you or your family member.
Clients experience a safe and nonjudgmental environment while also benefitting from the experience of having another human offer compassion, empathy, and support.
Sometimes, we even have fun!!
